A reminder that our Festival of Primary Science Education event is taking place on 21 May at the Holiday Inn, Winchester. If you haven’t already registered, please book your place as soon as possible to help us prepare for the day.

Don’t forget to book for Science Subject knowledge enhancement for non-specialists 2024 (Key Stage 3 focus)
Recruitment of high quality teaching staff presents a significant challenge for schools in Hampshire, as it does nationally. Our new subject knowledge enhancement course is for non-specialists, across all core and EBacc subjects, as well as RE.
This training will:
- Support those recently in post, as well as provide preparation support for those who may be taking up a new post in September 2024.
- Equip teachers with the knowledge and skills required to effectively deliver high quality lessons in the chosen subject.
- Focus on Key Stage 3 teaching principally, whilst offering the requisite level of skill and knowledge to facilitate further development towards the teaching of Key Stage 4 over time.
Participants will need some prior knowledge of the chosen subject.

New Wave - resources for primary and secondary
New Wave education programme from Southern Water explores and celebrates all the ways we use water; shows how we can save more and empowers students to protect and value water for life.
All resources are free and have been designed to fit key geography, science and citizenship topics, with a regional focus on the South East and its local environment.

These meetings are for primary science co-ordinators to come together to network with colleagues. The meetings are a chance for science subject leaders to learn about and discuss the latest local and national initiatives in science in order to be fully informed of the developments within the subject.
